Who ya gonna call? Ghostbusters!

We were sitting down at the beach when commercials for the new Ghostbusters movie comes on and Jeremy goes, hey lets be the ghostbusters. You know because it is totally normal to be thinking about Halloween in the middle of July. 😉 Roman at first was like I don’t know I want to be something scary. My number one thing is everyone loves who they are. After Roman started seeing the costumes and options August and him was an astounding yes as long as they could have a gun to shoot…. You know typical boy.

I found a shop on etsy that could do a custom made Stay Puff for Silas and then I was sold! Jeremy said I am going to make my costume.  And sure enough in July when we returned he took a trip to get supplies and started constructing Slimer. I have to give it to him it was pretty epic the way his came together. See the bottom of this post to see some in progress pictures of how he did it.

I don’t know what it is about Halloween but I love it. I love that my husband gets so into in and in return so do my boys! I feel like time just keeps slipping away from us. My oldest is almost 9. How many more Halloween’s will he participate in? I am not sure but for now I am soaking in every moment and so thankful for this life. Having young kids isn’t easy. It is constant messes, chaos, and demanding and although it is not always easy I am trying to soak it up. This past week I saw so many people sharing pictures of there kids at Halloween when they were younger and how they miss it. One day that will be us and this night and these pictures will be just a moment in our time. Make memories, do epic things and soak it up friends. Life is short. Oh and if you see a ghost? Who ya gonna call? 😉

Oh Slimer….

 

“Can someone help me… it is almost 80 degrees out here and I am wearing enough fabric to survive in the Arctic.” 😉 I mean who would have guessed it would have been so warm on Halloween.

August I just love this kid. He challenges us in so many ways but he is also just the sweetest. We did one loop in our neighborhood walking and he said… “Mom I have enough candy can we go back I am tired.”

 

Roman our little dude! I swear he reminds me of my little brothers which scares me! He totally rocked it! 

 

Here is the Slimer! The back side even had a tail that made it look like slim following behind. 

 

The best part… I got to save the day and “take out daddy”.

 

My gun didn’t do the trick but my foot did. 😉 

Kills me….

 

Both of the boys had Ghostbuster guns that did light up with a ghost signal. My costume was a flight jumpsuit with a couple patches! Mine was easy! 

 

August got really into it…. I mean look at that face.

 

Ready for a fun night!

Stay Puff ended up ditching the hat.. don’t blame him! 🙂
