Giving thanks…. I LOVE this time of the year! Seriously love it! All the lights, kids’ excitement, Santas, family, friends, did I mention all the candy and sweets, and of course celebrating the true meaning of the season. Being a small business owner, I think it is also the perfect time to give thanks to the ones that make such an impact on my business including vendors that send referrals, as well as the clients that trust in me to do what I do. If it were not for these people believing in me, I would not have a small business!
Every year, I try to do something that gives back and also makes an impact. Last year I did prints for clients and a Starbucks gift for vendors, but this year I wanted to do something different and to give them something that they can use!
ShootProof made what I was going to do this year a no brainer! I created a mobile app for all my clients and vendors. If it were a wedding, I picked 40 images from the wedding that highlighted day. This allowed the bride to showcase her day with any family and or friends. For vendors that helped make the event possible, I pick and highlighted pictures that showcased what they offer. What do vendors typically have with them at meetings? Yes, you got it…their phone. Again, this is a gift for them to showcase their work! If it is a portrait client, I picked my favorites and included a variety of images that the client would want to share with family and friends. I let them share the app with whomever. Grandparents love it!
Why is this so awesome from a client’s perspective. It is the holidays and the ONE thing they will be sure to have at all the holiday gatherings is their phone. It gives them an opportunity to talk about the images! Ummm…hello? Free marketing! The responses I have gotten from clients have been amazing! Again, this is a mobile app for their smart phone, so the techie part of me also thinks it is pretty cool!

Here is how it looks. I could go on and on…. I think this app is something different and it is a personalized gift.
I also try to send out my family’s Christmas Card every year to clients and vendors! 🙂 Another way to personalize and just to say THANKS! That is another blog post that will be sharing soon! 🙂
