Lake House Living Room

Hey Friends! This is my first blog post in a minute! There really is so much I have to update you on. I really don’t even know where to start, so let’s start here…. in the heart of the home. It has been done, and then I decorated for Christmas and also life and here I am. These blog posts I do, sharing content, and all this takes time but there is no return on investment. Know all this here I paid for with my own money and resources! So if I am recommending or sharing something it is just because.

I am so proud of how this turned out and I love it! I usually always start with one thing that is an inspiration. Whether it be art, a rug, or something else. In this case, it was the rug. To be honest, when the floors got done I am like oh gezzz did I make a mistake going so light. I didn’t! This rug is the contrast that pulls it all together! Rugs are an investment but if it is the right one it is worth it!

I have to also first thank Thea Quillian of TMQ Interiors for being my go-to person. When it is my own home or project I can narrow it down to 2-3 things, then I am like… helllllpppp. Lol. Thea helped pull this all together, designing these chairs and finding me a couch! Both are performance fabric and with kids, that is a must. I do have a piece of art I want to find for in here and a couple of things for the coffee table, but it is done enough to share! If I want until it is all the way done it might not ever get shared so here we go!!

  • Living Room Rug
  • Indigo Chairs
  • Pillows – Are a total combo of Target, West Elm, and Society 6
  • Black Leather Chairs – Restoration hardware outlet!
  • Couch
  • Curtains and rod also restoration hardware outlet!
  • Sideboard – Mcgee and Co Petra Sideboard
  • Coffee Table – I found at Scott Antique Market and was a one-off made. I love how it brought rustic and broke up the linear of the room.
  • Fan – Rejuvenation – I used these in my last home too. That is how much I love them. They are an investment but worth it for the look and function.
  • All the iron handrails are custom.

Living Rooms I love going neutrals on all the big-ticket items. You can always change up the look and feel of the room with throws and pillows! I get bored easily so it is one of my favorite things to do!

The hardwood floor post is here and the paint colors are on this post here. One additional update is yes all the doors got painted Iron Ore by Sherwin Williams! That is the same color as my office.

After and Before! ohhh and I spy someone in the bottom right of the after! I will also share more angles soon! Just don’t want to giveaway the dining room and kitchen just yet! 🙂

Here are showing some details!

I get asked all the time how do I manage all the things. Know I don’t always do it gracefully. I get overwhelmed at times. When your kitchen and the heart of your home are not functioning that is tough and stressful. And I know I did it to myself by moving. Lol. I am just so thankful the inside heart of it is done! From here on out it is little inside projects, bathrooms and I have a big plan for the exterior! Oh, and you layer in Silas surgery and all the other things I went a little MIA.. 🙂

The thing is to push your life forward in any direction you must Plan! Planning of financials, time, and action steps (to-dos) because that is how it happens! But you also must be open to pivoting and surrendering to lessons. You win days by winning with your mind. For me my life is so robust I have to write it all down to keep my head on straight! I manage all my projects like this on the right-hand side of my STARTplanner Quarterly! I create a rolling daily to-do list for the home. On the left stays my business and personal to-do. It is the little things that add up!

Thank you all for being here! It is crazy I have had this blog for over a decade of life and know I am cheering for you in your own journey as you push your life forward in all the areas little by little!

xoxo

Kristy
