Stop what you are doing. No really, that is what I am suggesting. Wait, not yet… keep reading. 😉 This is more of a non-traditional approach to productivity, but I think it is an important part. Give yourself some breaks!
I talked last week about maximizing your peak times. You also should schedule in breaks. Lunch, working out, time with kids, whatever it may be. If you did the exact same tasks all day long you would get bored and your focus would wander. By scheduling in strategic breaks or just changing your scenery it can leave you feeling refreshed. This is different for everyone but for me I typically take two breaks. One to workout to breakup my day and another to break for lunch and see the kids. Then I am typically done with my workday by 3-4pm. By knowing your most productive times and scheduling breaks to keep you on top of your game…..you will get more done and it will be a higher quality of work!
You also should take a break from your everyday routine! Yes that means go on a vacation! You get to seek adventure, makes you appreciate the life you do have, and always revitalizes you from a mental standpoint! I recently took a break with the family to head down to Disney world. These are the meaningful moments we live for right? So important to increase your productivity and giving you a fresh look on your approach.
